At Perth Dance Club, we believe dancing is a fantastic activity for children — building confidence, coordination, musicality and social skills while learning something they can enjoy for years to come.

Our kids classes focus primarily on Ballroom and Latin dancing, introducing children to a variety of dances in a fun, encouraging and supportive environment. Classes are suitable for children with no previous dance experience, and no partner is required. New students are welcome to join throughout the year.

Children can simply enjoy learning to dance, or progress further as their confidence and ability develop. For students who want to take their dancing further, Perth Dance Club provides opportunities to participate in medal examinations and competitive dancing, giving young dancers the chance to set goals, develop their skills and experience the excitement of DanceSport competition.

Our aim is to create a strong junior program where children can begin as complete beginners and have the opportunity to progress as far as they would like.

Perth Dance Club is led by qualified professional coaches and adjudicators Jack Johnson and Joanne de Jager, who bring extensive experience teaching and competing in Ballroom and Latin dancing from beginner through to international level. Joanne has extensive experience teaching children, and our approach focuses on creating an encouraging environment where young dancers can learn, develop their confidence and enjoy being part of the dancing community.

All teachers working with children hold current Working With Children Checks. Perth Dance Club is also a KidSport registered club, helping eligible Western Australian families access financial assistance towards the cost of children’s dance classes.

Whether your child simply wants a fun new activity or has ambitions to progress into medal and competitive dancing, Perth Dance Club provides a supportive place to get started.
